Whether visitors come in via a grand entrance, the front door, or the laundry room--give them something to start the cheer.
Outside: Dress statues in your yard or on your porch with bows, Christmas ornaments, or jingle bells around their necks. Hang garland, lights, and swags on your porch or around light posts. Get creative with a wreath that complements your indoor Christmas themed display and add a matching ornament in the center.
Inside: Pineapples are the international symbol of hospitality. Greet guests with a stunning pineapple centerpiece on a pedestal near the front entrance.
Draw guests in with an entry space that directs the eye towards the main display (typically the tree), if possible. Coordinate your decor by color (feel free to go beyond the traditional red, green and gold), theme, or style.
Let them know Christmas goodies will be served by laying out a tray of tempting Christmas cookies. Or, give them an Aloha message as soon as they step in with island themed arrangements.
Solidify the feeling of warmth and welcome with a cheerful hug or handshake and an enthusiastic Merry Christmas!
