The word "Chinoiserie" refers to a rendering of Chinese symbols and styles in European art, furniture, and other décor, popular in the 18th century.  The Chinoiserie House ornaments design is based on "Chinese House at Armainvilliers," designed by the renowned architect Jean-Augustin Renard, circa 1780. Ornament height: 4 1/4 inches.
