The Back StoryMore: Perhaps most famous for its starring role in Pixar Film's Finding Nemo, the clown fish is loved for its vibrant orange, white and black color, it's "cute" appearance and the fact that it can nestle down, all nice and cozy, in the toxin filled barbs of an anemone's tentacles. The fish is able to build an immunity to the toxin. Clown Fish and anemones have a symbiotic relationship. This means that they help each other. Clown Fish receive bits of food from the anemone, and the anemone receives some protection from predators. Clown Fish also help anemones by eating their dead tentacles.
Friends who have visited Australia’s Great Barrier Reef deserve a clown fish ornament as a reminder of their snorkeling (or scuba) adventure at one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.
